Welcome to a new year, with not much new news.

Markets are generally neutral to bearish resulting from excessive stocks of special crops, grains, and oilseeds.   Inadequate rail transportation has added the inability to move the crop in a timely way at any price.   Going forward, trends are as follows:

Producers more willing to accept lower values in light of expected carryovers and high seeded acreages in peas and lentils.   These commodities are providing better returns and more reliable cash flow than competing crops.
